General

Vanco its subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively, "Vanco", "we" or "us") recognise the need to protect the personal information that might be gathered from our clients, potential clients and visitors through off- or on-line product purchases or enquiries.

With a view to ensuring compliance with applicable data protection laws and to ensure adequate safeguards with respect to the privacy and fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals, we have developed this Privacy Policy for implementation worldwide within the Vanco group of companies.

This Privacy Policy establishes guidelines for the collection, use and disclosure of personal information relating to (i) visitors to the website at the domain www.vanconetdirect.com including any part of such domain, sub domain or microsite (the "Website"); and (ii) any email communications between us; and (iii) Vanco’s customers, suppliers and business partners. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time by publishing the modified Privacy Policy on the Website. Any modifications shall take effect two (2) days after posting on the Website.  Your continued use of the Website will be deemed to indicate your acceptance of any changes to the Privacy Policy. 

By visiting the Website you are accepting and consenting to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

Data collection and use

You can access the Website and browse certain areas without disclosing personal information.

Normally, we will only collect personal information about you on a voluntary basis. You may choose not to provide certain information to us, but then you might not be able to take advantage of many of our features.  We collect your personal information if you register on the Website, or if, either on-line or off-line, you register your interest in any of our products or services, if you purchase any of our products or services or if you contact us with comments or specific requests. The types of your personal information which we collect may include:

You may choose to opt out of receiving communications by email from us as described in (2) and (3) of the "Data collection and use" section above.

To help us make emails more useful and interesting, we sometimes receive a receipt when you open email from Vanco if your software allows.  

If you do not want to receive email communications or other mail from us, please use the "unsubscribe" facility in emails which you receive from us. However, please consider that we may need to use email as a way of communicating with you when you purchase services from Vanco.

Third party information

If you provide us with personal information relating to third parties, you must, through your direct contact with those third parties, take all steps necessary to legitimise your processing of their personal information, including providing information as to our name and address, your disclosure of information to us for the purposes as described below, our possible further disclosure of information as necessary for the purposes described above and their rights of access and correction as described above and otherwise to ensure the fairness and lawfulness of all processing of personal information relating to such third parties.  By providing us with any personal information originating from a third party data subject you confirm that you have taken and completed all of these steps.

Data disclosure

Information about our customers is an important part of our business, and we are not in the business of selling it to others. We share your personal information only for the uses as described above within the Vanco group of companies which employ controls that either are subject to this Privacy Policy or follow practices at least as protective as those described in this Privacy Policy.

In certain circumstances we employ third parties to perform functions on our behalf.  This would include, for example, the fulfilment of orders, etc.  Please rest assured that these third parties only have the necessary access to your personal information that is needed to perform their functions and may not use it for other purposes.

We will ensure that any such third party is made aware of such obligations and will ensure that such third parties enter into contracts with us under which such third parties agree to be bound by terms no less protective of your personal information disclosed to them than the obligations imposed on us under applicable data protection laws.  We will take steps to enforce such contracts against third parties.

We shall fully co-operate with any law enforcement authorities or court order requesting or directing it to disclose the identity or locate any one posting any material in on the Website in breach of the Important Legal Notice. 

Other than as set out above, you will receive notice when your personal information (other than in anonymised form) might go to third parties, and you will have an opportunity to choose not to share the information.

Security

The security of your personal information is important to us. We have implemented technology and security policies, rules and measures to safeguard the security and confidentiality of the personal information under our control both on- and off-line and to protect such information from unauthorised access, improper use, alteration, unlawful or accidental destruction, and accidental loss.

The servers on which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

Personal information collected off-line is kept securely in our offices. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific task in relation to Vanco's products or services are granted access to such information.

We process and store your personal information on our computer systems based in England and in the United States of America.  We are part of an international group of companies operating globally, your personal information may be transferred to and accessed by authorised Vanco representatives in each of the countries in which we operate  (including countries outside the EEA that may have less stringent laws regulating the use and transfer of your personal information).  All of our personnel worldwide are obliged to comply with our comprehensive data processing and other internal policies, including this Privacy Policy, and we will therefore preserve the security and confidentiality of your personal information and afford it an adequate level of protection within each of our offices in each of the countries to which it is transferred.

Retention of your personal information

We will hold your personal information only for as long as it is necessary for us to do so, having regard to the purposes of the processing described in this Privacy Policy or as required by applicable law.

Monitoring

We reserve the right to monitor your browsing activity on the Website at www.vanconetdirect.com. If we reasonably suspect an abusive use of the Website we may monitor pro-actively such activities (but shall be under no obligation to do so) and take any action that we deem appropriate. Any user of the Website which we reasonably consider to be acting illegally or infringing the rights of third parties may be barred access permanently, at our discretion.
